OL_MPEG4 is a real time video MPEG-4 encoder capable of processing 4CIF resolution at 30 fps : - Fully compliant with the ISO/IEC 14496-2.
- Multi-channel version proven in silicon. FPGA demo for single channel version available.
- Real time encoding of video beyond 4CIF (704x576) at 30 fps.
- Advanced Simple Profile Level1 to 5
- Motion vector up to +15.5/ -16.0 pixels (I-VOP and P-VOP video objects).
- DC Prediction.
- The core includes IEEE1180 compliant DCT and type 1 quantizer.
- Very low gate count (approx 39 K gates + 25 Kbits of RAM in 0.18 u for 4CIF @ 30 fps).
- Very low clock speed (from ~3 MHz for QCIF @ 15 fps to ~98 MHz for 4CIF @ 30 fps).
- Fully synchronous design.
- Available as fully functional and synthesisable VHDL or Verilog soft-core.
- Test benches provided.
Available now. C model of the IP is available now for evaluation. A special version of this core, capable of simultaneous multi-channel encoding, has been delivered to a video surveillance customer and functional silicon has been received. Download the datasheet. |
