
The 2003 U.S. News & World Report annual ranking of graduate schools shows Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering maintaining its powerful national stature, moving up to number four in the nation this year. The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is the largest individual School at Georgia Tech and is ranked seventh in the current U.S. News & World Report rankings. ECE faculty members, which now number 110, are internationally recognized for their expertise in the full spectrum of electrical and computer engineering disciplines. Last year, the school produced the largest pool of engineering graduates in the United States, awarding 53 doctoral degrees, 221 master’s degrees, and 333 bachelor’s degrees. ECE is a recognized leader in economic development and business incubation initiatives. The School has established dynamic relationships with the industrial sector, particularly through its research programs in the Georgia Centers for Advanced Telecommunications Technology (GCATT), the Microelectronics Research Center (MiRC), the Manufacturing Research Center (MaRC), the Packaging Research Center (PRC), and Yamacraw. ECE remains committed to its tradition of excellence as faculty, students, and governmental and industrial partners jointly pioneer new innovations and seek creative solutions to complex technological challenges. |
