• "Girl Power! A Girl's Introduction to Computing" An exciting summer course to explore the field of computing for middle school girls.
•Programming Language Pragmatics The textbook Programming Language Pragmatics (Morgan Kaufmann, 2000), by Michael L. Scott is available in Simplified Chinese.  The second English edition will be available in October 2005.
• Two seniors, Peter Barnum and Micha Elsner, have received Honorable Mention by CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Committee.

Computer Studies Building

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Rochester is well known for its research production and collegial atmosphere. Degrees offered include an elite undergraduate major and an intense program leading to the doctor of philosophy. Particular emphasis is placed on computer vision and robotics, natural language understanding and knowledge representation, systems and architecture, and theory of computation.
